I saw my teacher at the bus stop.  Temas etme manası vardır:
He had a meeting at the Hotel Orontes.
They told me to wait for them at the cinema. He put a rug over me.

 Boydan boya manası da vardır:
 Fakat binanın kendisinden bahsediyorsak in kullanırız:
There is a bridge over the river.
There are magnificent decoration in mosques.
It was very cold in the cinema.  All over: ‘ ...-in her tarafında’ manasını taşır:

 At the sea dediğimiz zaman kişinin denizin yanında olduğunu anlarız: He has factories all over the world.
You can hear about him all over the world.
They were walking at the sea.

 In the sea dediğimiz zaman kişinin denizin içinde, suda olduğunu anlarız: Below ve Under:

When I arrived at the camp all of them were in the sea. İkisi de ‘altında’ anlamını taşır. Fakat under alttaki şeyle temas bildirir. Below edatında ise te-
mas söz konusu değildir:
 At sea dediğimiz geminin denizde olduğunu anlarız:
He put the money under the pillow.
Submarines can stay at sea for weeks. They live below us. (Bizim altımızdaki katta manasına gelir)

Beneath:
Üzerinde, üzerine anlamlarına gelir. Hem hareket hem de durum bildiren bir edattır:
‘Altında’ anlamını taşır. Fakat biraz gizlilik belirtir:

on the page on the chair on the right on a train He concealed the money beneath the mattress.
on the floor on the table on a list on a plane

My book fell on the ground. Underneath:
Your pencils were on the table.
I couldn’t see his name on the list. Below ve beneath manalarını taşır :
She wants to sit on that chair.
The dog is underneath the table.
Above:
Beside: ‘Yanında’ anlamındadır:
Üstünde anlamındadır. Fakat üstünde olduğu şeyle temas halinde değildir. On edatı ise temas
halindedir: She is sitting beside her mother.

Balloons were flying above our heads.  Bu edatı besides ile karıştırmamalıyız.
The lamp is above the table.
Besides:
Over:
-Preposition (edat) olarak kullanıldığında ‘in addition to/as well as’ yani, ‘bununla birlikte,
 Above gibi kullanılır: buna ilaveten’ anlamlarını taşır:

The helicopter hovered over us. He knows four languages besides English.
We flew over Pacific Ocean. Besides cooking, he can sing very well.
