She got here very quickly. She must have walked very fast.
(Buraya çok çabuk ulaştı. Çok hızlı yürümüş olmalı)

You must have worked hard because you look exhausted.
(Çok çalışmış olmalısınız; çünkü çok bitkin görünüyorsunuz)

I haven’t seen the people next door for long. They must have gone away.
(Yan kapıdaki insanları çok uzun süredir görmedim.Uzağa gitmiş olmalılar)

He can’t find his umbrella. He must have left it in his office.
(Şemsiyesini bulamıyor. Ofisinde bırakmış olmalı)

Can’t have + V3

Must have + V3 yapısının olumsuz şeklidir:

Ali passed the exam without studying. The exam can’t have been difficult.
(Ali sınavı çalışmadan geçti. Sınav zor olmuş olamaz)

Erkan did the opposite of what I said. He can’t have understood what I asked him to do.
(Erkan dediğimin tersini yaptı. Ne yapmasını istediğimi anlamış olamaz)

She can’t have paid for the bills because she was broke.
(Meteliksiz olduğundan dolayı faturaları ödemiş olamaz)

Have/had to be

 Bu yapı da varsayım ya da çıkarım yaparken kullanılır. Fakat diğerlerine göre kesinlik
derecesi daha fazladır:

There is a tall boy fishing in the river. He has to be Matthew.
(Nehirde balık tutan uzun boylu bir çocuk var. Matthew olmalı.)

This has to be the best film you have seen.
(Bu izlediğin en iyi film olmalı)

I couldn’t see Tom at home. He had to be with his classmates.
(Tom’u evde göremedim. Sınıf arkadaşlarıyla birlikte olmalıydı)

 Had to be yapısı must have been ile hemen hemen aynı anlama gelir:

I wonder who stole the money.
-It had to be/must have been your roommate.
(Parayı kimin çaldığını merak ediyorum. –Oda arkadaşın olsa gerek)
