 Might kipliği may’e oranla biraz daha az kesinlik belirtir.

I may finish my project today. (Belki bitiririm)
I might finish my project today. (Sanırım bitirmem imkansız)

 Olumsuz cümlelerde ikisinin arasında hiçbir fark yoktur:

They may/might not play with us.
(Bizimle oynamayabilirler)

He may/might not keep his promise.
(Sözünde durmayabilir)

 Soru cümlelerinde may, nadiren kullanılır:

What may this election bring?
(Bu seçim ne getirebilir?)

When may his speech end?
(Konuşması ne zaman bitebilir?)

 Might ise soru cümlelerinde sık kullanılır:

Might your friends be deceiving you ?
(Arkadaşların seni aldatıyor olabilirler mi?)

May/might have + V3

Geçmişteki olasılıklar için bu yapıları kullanabiliriz:

My friends may/might have had an accident with their car.
(Arkadaşlarım arabalarıyla kaza geçirmiş olabilirler)

They may/might have gone to their hometowns.
(Memleketlerine gitmiş olabilirler)

Betty is not in her office; she may/might have gone to restaurant.
(Betty ofisinde değil; restoranta gitmiş olabilir )

Can
