STORIES OF RAMADAN
cares about us. He also sometimes calls us as “Ramadan
birds” and we like it too. Who would not like to be called
as birds? The beautiful ornaments of the blue sky.
We even choosed some bird names for us. I did choose
being an eagle and my sister wanted to be a swallow. We
even call each other as “My Birdie”.
There goes the azan. All of us around the dinner table
reached to the plate in the middle of the table to break our
fastings with a date.
Soups and pitta bread or anything we eat during Ramadan
taste even better. We started eating our soups joyfully. My
mother did fill our plates with smaller portions than usual.
Eating a lot immediately is harmful for our stomachs, says my
mom always. Our dear Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w) advised
us to leave the table before being full. I and my sister said
our prayer, left nothing on our plates and left the table.
My mother gave us the good news after iftat.
- Kids! We have guests for tarawih prayer tonight.
Yesssss! We do tarawih prayer together with our
neighbours from the same building some nights. A while
later, we will start praying with our friends behind our
elderlies and pray Allah for everything that He has given to
us.
- Are Hakan and his family coming? I asked.
My father nodded his head.
- Ohooooooo! We have other guests too.
