Duygu, tepki vb. belirten predicative sıfatlar:

Delighted, dismayed, glad, content, sorry, upset, pleased gibi sıfatlar ve far ve near gibi uzak-
lık belirtenler sadece predicative olarak kullanılır:

They were dismayed to see the boy fainted.
She was delighted to meet you.
I am glad to hear about him.
His house is quite near here. It isn’t far from here.

Edatlarla kullanılan predicative sıfatlar:
Predicative olarak kullanılan pek çok sıfat edat ile kullanılabilir:

He is fond of you. She is kind to me. She is good at fishing.

 Complete:‘tamamen’ manasında attributive (niteleyici) olarak kullanılan sıfatlar:

Derecelendirme zarfı (adverbs of degree) veya pekiştireç olarak kullanılan birkaç sıfat vardır
ve sadece attributive olarak kullanılırlar:

Sheer, mere, utter, out an out , „complete‟ anlamında kullanılırlar:

Don’t let him go abroad. He is a mere boy.
Don’t believe him, because what he says is sheer /utter/ complete nonsense.

Very, kalıplaşmış ifadelerde tek başına sıfat olarak kullanılabilir:

It is the very end they reached.
That is the very thing I need.
She is the very woman I am looking for.

Very, manasında kullanılan diğer sıfatlar: close, pure,
complete, perfect, total, strong.

a complete failure, a pure nonsense, a close friend, a total stupid gibi.

-ing‟li sıfatlar da diğer sıfatları niteleyebilirler. Kalıplaşmış ifadelerde very gibi pekiştireç
olarak kullanılabilirler:

freezing cold = very cold
soaking wet = very wet
boiling hot =very hot
