Past participle:

Bu ortaç, fiile –ed (veya V3) takısının eklenmesiyle yapılır. Relative clause’da fiil edilgen
(passive) ise ilgi zamiri ve ‘to be’ fiili kaldırılır sonra past participle getirilir:

The prisoners who were tried last year will be executed two hours from now.
The prisoners tried last year will be executed two hours from now.
(Geçen yıl yargılanan mahpuslar iki saat sonra idam edilecekler)

Erol, who was appointed as a new manager, seems to be very happy.
Erol, appointed as a new manager, seems to be very happy.
(Yeni bir müdür olarak atanan Erol’un çok mutlu olduğu görülüyor)

The book which was revised carefully is going to be published two days from now.
The book revised carefully is going to be published two days from now.
(Dikkatlice gözden geçirilen kitap iki gün sonra yayınlanacak)

Perfect participle:

Bu ortaç, relative clause’da tense present perfect, past perfect veya simple past ise etken
(active) eylemler için having + V3, edilgen (passive) eylemler için having been +V3 şeklinde
kullanılır:

Ann, who has seen that film before, wants to go to the theatre tonight.
Ann, having seen that film before, wants to go to the theatre tonight.
(O filmi daha önce izleyen Ann, bu gece tiyatroya gitmek istiyor)

His family, who had gone to Bodrum last summer, decided to go to Antalya this summer.
His family, having gone to Bodrum last summer, decided to go to Antalya this summer.
(Geçen yaz Bodrum’a giden ailesi, bu yaz Antalya’ya gitmeye karar verdi)

The book which was revised carefully is going to be published two days later.
The book having been revised carefully is going to be published two days later.

 To-infinitive ile relative clause’da kısaltma:

Relative clause’da kısaltma yaparken, the only, the first/second, the last gibi ifadelerden ve
superlative (en üstünlük karşılaştırması)’den sonra to-infinitive kullanılır:

He was the only person who passed the exam.
He was the only person to pass the exam.

She is the first woman who is doing this kind of job.
She is the first woman to do this kind of job.

Bob was the last person who arrived at the meeting.
Bob was the last person to arrive at the meeting.
