 Dönüşlü zamirler, vurgu yapmak için but ve than’den sonra kullanılabilirler:

He insulted no one but himself.
They accused no one but themselves.
I’d like to marry a girl younger than myself.

 Bazı edatlardan sonra dönüşlü zamir veya nesne zamiri kullanılabilir:

The inflation affects people like me/myself.
Who wants to work overtime besides him/himself ?

 Dönüşlü zamirlerin vurgu yapmak için kullanılması:

 Dönüşlü zamirler, vurgu yapmak için isim ve zamirlerden sonra gelebilirler:

He himself solved the problem.
The PM himself gave her the prize.
We ourselves had had a similar experience.
I myself will present the prizes.

 Dönüşlü zamirler, cümlenin sonuna da getirilebilirler:

He did it himself. You broke it yourself.

 Zıtlık veya karşılaştırma söz konusu ise de kullanabiliriz:

He is all right himself , but his brother is badly hurt.

 Be, feel, seem, appear, look, smell gibi fillerden sonra dönüşlü zamirlerin kullanılması:

He is so tired nowadays. He isn’t himself.
She is so angry. She doesn’t look herself.

 Bazen de iyelik sıfatı ve sıfat + self kullanabiliriz:

Freddie doesn’t look his cheerful self.
My mother didn’t sound her happy self at the party.
