 A/an tanımlığı, rather'dan önce veya sonra gelebilir:
-rather a/an , bir isimle kullanılacaksa o isimden önce gelmelidir:
It was rather a struggle.
It was rather a pity that he failed in the exam.

-rather a/an veya a rather sıfat + isim'den önce gelebilir:

It's rather an interesting film.
It's a rather interesting film.

Much:

 Daha çok olumsuz cümlelerde 'a lot' anlamında kullanılır.

She doesn't talk about them much/a lot.
We hadn't got much/a lot money.

 Soru cümlelerinde How?soru sözcüğü ile kullanılır:

How much did he tell you?
How much money have you got left?

 Comparative (üstünlük karşılaştırması) ve superlative (en üstünlük karşılaştırması) ile kul-
lanılabilir. Much better, much the best, much more expensive gibi.

Now I feel much more confident.
It was much the best video cassette player.
Your work is much better than mine.

Derecelendirme zarfı olarak comparative (üstünlük karşılaştırması) ile veya too, so ile kullanı-
labilir:

He writes far better than I do.
It was far more than I expected.
