 A lot of’un önünde quite ve rather sözcükleri kullanılabilir:

He has quite a lot of problems nowadays.
Bad weather conditions have affected rather a lot of people.

 A lot of/lots of/plenty yapıları kendilerinden sonra gelen ismin durumuna göre ya tekil ya
da çoğul bir fiille kullanılırlar:

There was a lot of/lots of/plenty of money in his wallet.
There were a lot of/lots of/plenty of apples in the basket.

No:

Olumsuzluk ifade eden bir sözcüktür. Kendisinden sonra daima bir isimle kullanılmalıdır.
Sayılabilen çoğul ve sayılamayan isimlerin önünde kullanılır:

No students have passed the exam.
No information was given to the tourists.

None of the:

‘Hiçbiri’ anlamındadır. Kendisinden sonra of gelirse belirli bir isimle kullanılır. Sayılabilen
ço-ğul isimlerle kullanıldığında fiil tekil ya da çoğul olabilir. Sayılamayan isimlerle
kullanıldığın-da fiil her zaman tekildir:

None of these cars are/is cheap.
None of the children were/was in sight.
None of this information is useful for us at present.

Rest of the:

‘Geri kalanı, yarısı’ anlamına gelir:

You had better watch the rest of the film.
The rest of our time was spent sleeping.
The rest of the students don’t want to attend these courses.
He couldn’t find the rest of the money.

Most:

‘Çoğu, pek çoğu’ anlamındaki most hem sayılabilen çoğul hem de sayılamayan isimlerle
kullanılır.

Most racial discrimination is based on ignorance.
Most Asian countries are underdeveloped countries.
Most Arabic speakers understand Egyptian.
