Enough:

Miktar ve sayıca yeterli anlamına gelen enough, çoğul sayılabilen ve tekil sayılamayan isim-
lerin önünde olumlu, olumsuz ve soru cümlelerinde kullanılabilir:

He hasn’t got enough information about Turkey.
They have got enough bicycles to go for a picnic.
Do you have enough time to talk to me?

 Enough of yapısı tekil sayılabilen isimle kullanılır:

They hadn’t seen enough of his work.
She was able to save enough of her furniture to fill a room.

 Enough sözcüğünün önünde about, almost, hardly, less than, more than, nearly, not, not
nearly, quite, not quite, scarcely sözcüklerini kullanabiliriz:

We have hardly enough water.
We have hardly enough bicycles.

Half:

‘Yarısı’ anlamına gelen half sayılabilen tekil ve çoğul ve sayılamayan isimlerle kullanılır.
Genellikle kendisinden sonra of kullanılır. Sayılabilen ve sayılamayan isimlerle kullanıldı-
ğında tekil; çoğul isimlerle kullanıldığında çoğul fiil ile kullanılır:

Half of her front teeth are missing.
Half of the students have failed in the exam.
Half of the bread was eaten by her sister.

A lot of/lots of/plenty of:

Genellikle olumlu cümlede kullanılan a lot of/lots of/plenty of yapıları, ‘çok, pek çok’ anla-
mına gelirler ve hem sayılabilen çoğul ve sayılamayan isimlerle kullanılırlar:

There was a lot of money in his wallet.
I haven’t got a lot of time.
A lot of people were queuing for the film.
We have got plenty of plates in the fridge.
You have got plenty of money. Why don’t you lend some to your friend?

 A lot of ve lots of olumsuz cümlede de kullanılır, fakat, plenty of olumsuz cümlede pek
kullanılmaz:

I don’t owe you a lot of/lots of money.
