Little and a little:

Bunların ikisi de sayılamayan tekil isimlerle kullanılır:

 Little, few gibi olumsuz bir anlama sahiptir. ‘Az, hemen hemen hiç’ anlamındadır. Genel-
likle very’den sonra kullanılır:

She has very little time for reading.
Our country had little rain all summer.

 Little, deyimsel ifadelerde de kullanılır:

There’s little point in telling him now.

 A little, olumlu bir anlama sahiptir. ‘Biraz, bir miktar’ anlamına gelir:

You have caused a little confusion over here.
He told me to pay a little attention to his words.
She needs a little help to move these books.
Do you have got any spare milk? –Yes, I’ve got a little.

 A little niceleyicisini, just, only gibi sözcüklerle kullanabiliriz:

How much would you like to drink? –Just a little please.
There is only a little milk left.
