Kalıplaşmış ifadelerde let ve make fiillerinden sonra to-infinitive gelmez:

let fall live and let live
let slip let me see
make believe make do
let go make believe

Would rather, had better’dan sonra:

I would rather study than watch TV.
(Televizyon izlemektense ders çalışmayı yeğlerim)

She had better give up smoking.
(Sigara içmekten vazgeçse iyi olur)

They had better not swim today.
(Bugün yüzmeseler iyi olur)

Why/Why not’tan sonra:

Why sleep now?
(Şimdi niye uyumalı?)

Why not talk to the boss?
(Niye patronla konuşmayalım?)

 The Infinitive with or without ‘To’ (To’lu veya to’suz kullanılabilen eylemlik)

 Help ve know gibi birkaç fiilden sonra bare infinitive (‘to’almayan eylemlik) veya to-
infinitive kullanılır. To-infinitive’in kullanımı formal (resmi)dır:

They helped me (to) carry my suitcase.
He helped her (to) clean the house.

 Not’tan sonra to kullanılmalıdır:

I wanted to help you not to worry about the results of your exams.

Edilgen çatıda (passive voice) help fiilinden sonra to-infinitive kullanılmalıdır:

She was helped to give up smoking.
The students were helped to solve the problems.
