If + s. present + must/should:
If he wants to lose weight, he should/must eat less bread.
If you get wet you should/must change your clothes immediately.
If she finishes early she should/must phone me.
If + present + request, advice, command, threat, comment gibi ifadeler:
request (rica) : If you tell us what to do, we'll get on with it.
advice (tavsiye) : If you don't hurry up, you will miss your train.
command (emir) : If you want to lose weight, eat less bread.
threat (tehdit) : If you go on eating sweets, you won't get any dinner.
comment (yorum) : If you fail to pay, they'll cut off the electricity.
If + s. present + s. Present:
Hem koşul cümleciğini hem de ana cümleyi simple present tense ile kullandığımız zaman
alışkanlıklarımızdan veya bir koşula bağlı olarak her zaman yaptığımız eylemlerden bah-
sediyoruz demektir.
If the weather isn't good, I don't like to go out.
If he gets thirsty, he satisfies it drinking cola.
If you heat ice, it turns to water.

clause (koşul cümleciği)'da kullanabileceğimiz tense veya modal'ları görelim:
If + present continuous tense :
Bu yapı konuşma sırasında devam etmekte olan bir eylemi ifade etmek için kullanılır:
If he is standing in the rain, he will catch cold.
If you are studying, I had better go to the other room.
If + present perfect tense:
If she has arrived at the station, she will be here soon.
If you have finished your dish, I will ask for the bill.
I f he has failed in the exam, he had better study hard.
