She said (that) she would sell her car.
She said to me (that) she would sell her car.
She told me (that) she would sell her car.

Düz cümlede dikkat edeceğimiz en önemli hususlardan biri aktarma sözünün; yani, say ve
tell ile yapılan giriş eyleminin hangi tense’te olduğudur.

 Aktarma sözü, present, present perfect veya future tense olduğu zaman aktarılacak olan
cümlede tense değişikliği yapılmaz:

Bob : “ I watch TV from eight to eleven o‟clock”.

Bob says that he watches TV from eight to eleven o’clock.
Bob has told me (that) he watches TV from eight to eleven o’clock.
Bob will tell me (that) he watches TV from eight to eleven o’clock.

 Üstteki örnekte görüldüğü gibi tense değişikliği yapılmamış sadece zamir değişikliği yapıl-
mıştır. Bunun için muhtemel zamir değişikliklerini görelim:

I he/she me/you him/her my his/her
we they us them our their
mine his/hers ours theirs myself himself/herself

 Şayet aktarma; yani, say veya tell fiili ile yapılan giriş eyleminin tense‟i simple past veya
past perfect tense ise aktarılan cümlenin tense‟inde varsa zaman zarfında ve zamirinde
değişiklik yapılır:

Ann : “I am waiting for you now”
Ann told me (that) she was waiting for me then.

 Üstteki cümlede gördüğümüz gibi aktarma sözü simple past olduğu için aktarılan sözün
tense‟i değişikliğe uğramıştır. Present continuous tense‟ten past continuous
tense‟değişmiştir. Aynı şekilde, özne zamiri olan I zamiri de she zamirine, nesne zamiri olan
you zamiri de me zamirine dönüşmüştür.

 Aynı şekilde zaman zarfı olan now ise aktarılan cümleye then olarak değişmiştir.
