273 INDIRECT SPEECH

“I lost my money two days ago,” he said to me.
He said to me (that) he (had) lost his money two days before/earlier.

 Be fiili past perfect tense‟e dönüşmez:

“I was interested in fishing,” he said.
He said (that) he was interested in fishing.
(Balık tutmaya ilgisi olduğunu söyledi)

Present durumdaki kip belirteçleri (modals) aktarılan cümlede past halleriyle kullanılır:

“I can play guitar”, Fatih said.
Fatih said (that) he could play guitar.
(Fatih gitar çalabildiğini söyledi.)

“I will phone you later”, he said.
He said (that) he would phone me later.
(Beni daha sonra arayacağını söyledi.)

“I may visit my uncle tomorrow”, she said.
She said (that) she might visit her uncle the next/following day.
(Yarın amcasını ziyaret edebileceğini söyledi.)
